The First Post

This is the first post.
This is the post that hopefully will entice you enough to come back. I'm going to keep you on your toes though, I don't want to give the whole game away just yet. Well, actually, that probably is the point of blogging in the first place isn't it?
So, what is this all about? Well I have a website www.kategwilliam.com . You may have actually just come from there, in which case you know that I am a fresh graduate of Textile Design, and I specialise in embroidery and embellishment. If you haven't come from there, perhaps you should visit!

I am getting ready for our summer graduate shows, one here (University College Falmouth) and one at New Designers 2011(google it!). I am struggling with the concept of what exactly to do next. It is all very easy to say I'm going to get a placement, I'm going to get a job, but how? Graduates that I'm in touch with still don't have jobs or if they do it's not the one they want to be doing. Don't get the wrong idea here, I'm not about to start moaning about the fact that I have thousands of pounds worth of student debt and that there aren't any jobs. No, I decided to go to University, and I have loved every second of it, I never expected that it would automatically get me my perfect job, but maybe it would set me on the right path.
Now, I am currently thinking of new samples and pieces to exhibit (and hopefully sell) and if you go to my website you shall see them pop up there. Soon, I shall be applying for placements and jobs, and I will keep you posted!!
